A Little Bit about MBAT
Art Therapy has been around for decades to help reduce suffering in peoples’ lives. More often than not, a person goes to (art) therapy as a last resort. They may be going through a difficult transition or may be experiencing a serious mental illness that requires professional help. Art Therapy is also helpful as a proactive tool in aiding us live our best lives, and is a preventative form of medicine. Art Therapy has the ability to enhance the quality of relationship in someone’s life through developing self-awareness and gratitude.
Mindfulness Based Art Therapy (MBAT) pairs mindfulness, the moment to moment awareness of the present moment, with any sort of creative process. Using mindfulness and art together can help make each practice a little bit easier.
