Space Girl

I traditionally make my collages out of National Geographic. I’ve got years worth of issues, with publications ranging from the 70’s to present day, all over my apartment and in my studio. I am attracted to the images of places I have never been, beautiful vistas, and people I will never meet. The photos are taken in nature, or at least, somewhat of a natural setting. I trust these photos are little to no editing.

Can you feel the space inside you?

Do you look at it in awe, amazed by the beauty it beholds?

Can you get a sense of the warm that radiates from within?

Do you feel overwhelmed by its vastness?

Does it inspire you to explore great depths?

Do you know that comes from nature, and is perfect just as it is.

Not unlike a flower, who comes into this world as a flawless being?

In this collage I used a vogue magazine to find my images. I noticed the drastic difference in vibe when pursuing* through the fashion magazine. I notice copious pages of products geared towards profiteering off a presumed sense of inadequacy. Shampoos, conditioners, make up. Stuff I do not need.
