This is a gratitude collage.
Gratitude is one of the best things to practice to improve life satisfaction. It has been suggested by researchers that expressing three things one is grateful for every day can increase feelings of positivity throughout the day. The best part of this practice is how quick and easy it can be. By making a gratitude collage, not only are you creating a visual display of the wonderful people, places, and things in your life, but you make a visual reminder of your daily gratitude practice.

My very first gratitude collage was made while I was living in Vancouver. While I was making the piece I was thinking about family, nature, and exploration among many other beautiful things. As my collection of personal artworks increases, I become more and more familiar with common symbols and themes that surface in my creations. Moons, trees, flowers are all reoccurring images I use over and over again. Is it the comfort of the familiar or the grave importance and messaging that they bring when they arrive that keeps them coming back? Either way, I am grateful for their contributions and hope that my art does them justice.
